Overview

Our science curriculum nurtures children’s curiosity about the world around them, beginning in Early Science where pupils learn through real‑life, seasonal experiences such as exploring plants in summer and investigating similarities and differences in nature.

As they move through school, children build secure scientific knowledge and vocabulary in line with the National Curriculum, making meaningful links with subjects like maths, PE, DT and geography.

We prioritise fluency so that key concepts are remembered long-term, using tools such as vocabulary checks and quick-start fluency tasks in every lesson.

Our strong subject knowledge enables us to identify and address misconceptions early, ensuring every child develops a confident, accurate understanding of the scientific world as their learning journey continues.
